From the Desk of Superintendent Lee Coker:

It is wonderful to be back in school for another year. We received over 100 new students to our district and are now educating 1700 students. Space is a premium and we are currently working on our next proposed bond issue to hopefully try to keep up with the growth. At the urging of all Grady County Superintendents, our county assessor hired a new company to inspect all oil and gas properties in our county. In the Tuttle School District alone a total of $11.2 million in properties that had never been placed on the tax rolls were discovered. This will add greatly to our ability to pass more bond issues without adding to our patrons tax burden. As you are all aware, the price of fuel has been skyrocketing. We are currently studying all transportation and and certainly will have to adjust several bus routes. That will mean that some students may be required walk further to meet the bus. This is certainly not something we want to do, but in these economic times we feel we have no choice. We will be notifying those students who will be affected in the coming weeks. I look forward to a wonderful school year and I hope you do as well.
